In all honestly, I think there are better alternatives to spending $999 on a monitor stand from Apple. For that price, you could get two 4K monitors and have them work in tandem for better productivity. It's like Apple is trying to rob their customers in broad daylight by charging such an exorbitant amount.

The stand itself requires a proprietary VESA mount, which means you can't simply screw it directly into the monitor like you would with other monitors. You'll need to buy this additional accessory, adding even more cost to your overall bill. It's frustrating and unnecessary, especially considering that Apple didn't even include a monitor stand with their Pro Display XDR in the first place.

But what really takes the cake is the fact that Apple is trying to censor YouTube videos that show off the ridiculous price of the stand. Apparently, they don't want anyone making fun of it, which only adds to the controversy surrounding this overpriced accessory.

I'm also not a fan of the magnets used to mount and snap the monitor onto the stand. It feels cheap and unsecure, and I worry about the durability of the product over time.

In comparison, Apple's previous external monitor came with a stand included in the price tag. So, why are they charging an extra $999 for this separate accessory? It's simply not justified.

The new Pro Stand and VESA mount for the Pro Display XDR is a solution to a problem that didn't need to exist in the first place.
